Strathcona Parent Seminar Series 2025: Self Compassion as an Antidote to Self Criticism

In this session, Dr Eleonora Cattini discusses the power of self-compassion and its impact on emotional well-being. Fleeting negative thoughts and self-criticism are part of the human experience, but learning to respond with kindness rather than judgment can make a meaningful difference.

Research highlights a strong link between cultivating self-compassion and improved mental health—enhancing mood, easing anxiety, and reducing feelings of loneliness.

Building on her 2024 presentation, Dr Cattini will guide participants through practical exercises designed to develop self-compassion skills. The session will also explore how parents can support their children in fostering compassion—while perhaps learning a few helpful strategies for themselves along the way.

Bookings are essential for this parent seminar.
