The Advanced Learning Centre (ALC) is part of a multidisciplinary team which supports all students to advance their learning at a pace or level which allows them to be successful learners.
The ALC hub is based in a refreshed suite of rooms on the Main Campus adjacent to the new Contemporary Learning Centre. We also have dedicated spaces in the Junior School and at Tay Creggan. Advanced Learning activities take place within and beyond the classroom and encompass the entire School.
We encourage all girls to be confident, active and creative learners, empowered by knowing, understanding and articulating their unique learning profiles, and recognising the importance of being engaged with the wider community.
Our goal was for our daughter to have options after year 12. This goal was achieved and so much more, such as leadership, confidence and resilience. She managed to exceed everyone’s expectations in terms of her results. She is now heading to University to take up her first choice. None of this would have been achieved without the care, compassion and support provided by her teachers.

The ALC vision
The Advanced Learning Centre’s vision is to provide and support personalised learning for all students as well as the wider School community. Educational research continues to expand our understanding of brain development and informs our teaching practices, which value the importance of continued questioning, experimentation, reflection and evaluation.
