Experience life at Strathcona first hand with a school tour. Strathcona offers private personal tours, regular Saturday School Tours on all three campuses, School at Work weekday events, and a special Prep Transition program for families searching for the right Prep class for their daughter.

Events and activities for families searching for the right Prep class for 2017

Experience how Strathcona aims to offer the best educational start for your daughter. Join us in our cosy Prep classroom in an Edwardian House with teacher Amy McDonald, or explore our Junior School’s modern facilities.

Prep Information Evening for Prospective families in 2017

Come and see for yourself what Strathcona’s Junior School – and Prep in particular – have to offer your daughter. Prep teacher Miss Amy McDonald, Acting Head of Mellor House Geoff Little, and other Junior School staff will share the highlights of our Prep curriculum, from approaches to teaching Literacy and Numeracy, to creative activities including music and art. Meet other future families, ask questions, and explore our campus and special Edwardian Prep classroom.

2:45pm – 3:30pm Health and wellbeing is a vital part of education at Strathcona. In this session, children* will meet our energetic Physical Education teacher, Miss Tiffany Kelly, and have lots of fun trying activities from our Perceptual Motor Program (PMP).
Artists at Work – Performing Arts

2:45pm – 3:30pm Strathcona’s Junior School Art teacher, Sue Clarke, is a firm favourite with students and parents alike. Sue has a special ability to stretch all students artistically, from calligraphy and painting to doll making and ceramics. Your daughter* will love this session with Sue, and leave with a special piece of art to display proudly at home.
Busy Fingers – Developmental Play and Fine Motor Skills

2:45pm – 3:30pm Prep is a special developmental age for girls, and Strathcona ensures that play is not just fun and social, but a chance for little bodies to grow strong and nimble. Mums, Dads and Grandparents are encouraged to join in a fun range of finger gym activities with their daughters, to refine our fine motor skills.
