Position Vacant: Acting Coordinator of Junior School Music

1. Oversee classroom program PP – 6.
2. Choral program PP – 6.
3. Oversee Junior School instrumental programs
   • classroom
   • ensemble groups
   • chamber music program
   • string program 2
   • brass/percussion program 4
   • 5 & 6 new students into instrumental program
   • performance opportunities for solo instrumentalists
   • overseeing of repertoire and instrumental materials used in liaison with the instrumental teachers to determine and develop goals to assign same choice of pieces as for ensemble programs.
4. Co-selection of instrumental teachers with the Director of Music and liaison with the Director of Music on allocation of teachers, scheduling, monitoring of lessons. PP – 6.
5. Liaison with Coordinator of Instrumental Ensembles about the range of groups and personnel. PP – 6.
6. Overseeing of choice of examination system for individual Junior School students involving close liaison with individual instrumental teachers.
7. Communication of department content and goals to all music staff.
8. Setting of 5-year plan for development of Junior School Music program.
9. Overseeing Junior School students’ musical involvement.
10. Conduct end of year/beginning of year review meeting on individual Junior School students with each instrumental teacher, together with the Director of Music.
11. Liaison with Director of Music on 6 – 7 transition.
12. Management of Junior School budget for class programs.
13. Liaison with Director Music on instrument/material needs.
14. Support of all staff involved with Junior School.
15. Liaison with Music Secretary on Junior School instrumental student requirements.
